Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Claims Involving Player the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and were in communication with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of Rice specifically in their announcement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, posted a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the initial part of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals hurt. He was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
