"Adequate time has elapsed that I can finally express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner made him fall in love. "As we began sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor uploaded archival material from the production, commenting that he cannot recall "any day without joy".

"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Things that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes expressed.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.
