Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards took place this past week, and with a remarkable performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the most decorated winner. The standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with honors for Superb Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Complementing the developer's triumph, its talented actors also received personal awards. Jennifer English won Outstanding Lead Performance for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Performer for his role as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself received Best Development Team. Overall, Clair Obscur and its developers collected 7 awards during the ceremony.
Additional major winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Best PC Game. It is important to note, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the public, with only 4 awards—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamers' Favorite—judged by reviewers.
