Barça Ready for Historic Match at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition 30 months following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted an open training session at the Camp Nou in early November. They mentioned approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side next month in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
